HLW Senior Design Strategist Hannah Beveridge will be leading a workshop for the ICLCity 2016 Conference.
Workspace design reinforces and is reinforced by the culture of its occupants. With people spending a large proportion of their lives at work, the spaces we work in and the people we interact with while we work, form a large part of our daily lives. As each organisation pursues their unique business objectives and navigates changing business and cultural landscapes, their unique characters and attributes are reflected in the daily work patterns of their people. Space and the physical environment can sometimes be taken for granted, but the interaction between organisational culture and the physical space they inhabit can play out in numerous ways. This workshop will explore how the planning, testing and design of a physical environment and the elements that fill it can make or break a workplace experience. Using interactive, engaging and hands on activities, we will demonstrate why space matters and explore opportunities to align the design of space with the cultural attributes of an organisation.
